Bernard Madoff, architect of the biggest US fraud ever, dies at age 82

Bernard Madoff was serving his 150-year sentence at the federal prison care center in Butner, NC, and died at age 82. He was being treated for a terminal kidney disease. The man managed to rip off tens of thousands of clients for a total sum of $65 billion. After a 4-decade long scam, he was turned in by his two sons in 2009. His fraud is still considered as one of the egregious financial crimes of all time.
