China Factory growth slows to 1-1/2 year low

China's official NBS Manufacturing PMI fell to 50.1 in August 2021, down from 50.4 the previous month and well below market expectations of 50.2. In the midst of the Delta form of Covid-19 outbreaks, rising material costs, and an effort to limit carbon emissions, factory activity increased at the slowest pace since February 2020.
