Countries with the most ATMs
While many people are talking about digital currency, we can easily forget that in many country still, cash remains the king. However, this is starting to change with the Covid-19 pandemic, as ATMs have seen fewer withdrawals with people preferring contactless payment methods to bills and coins. Are ATMs disappearing then? Not so fast. A Global Web Index survey showed that even if 77% of South Koreans preferred paying by card, the country also had the highest number of ATM per 100'000 person in the world. As of 2019 or latest available data, South Korea had 267 ATMs, Canada 214 and San Marino 191 (per 100k people).
