Google sees traffic acquisition costs rise 30% YoY to $9.71B

Alphabet's earnings report had good news for Apple. Alphabet continues to spend heavily to ensure Google remains the default search engine on iPhones and other devices. Its traffic-acquisition costs during 1Q rose 30% to $ 9.71B during 1Q from a year earlier. Some of those funds typically flow straight to Apple's bottom line and have been a big contributor to the growth of its service business.
