Governments have lost their initial pandemic confidence surge

According to the FT, lockdowns will succeed only if trust in authorities remains high, and this does not look to be the case. There are also some worries regarding a successful rollout of the vaccine: in 20 out of the 28 countries studied, under 70% said they planned to get the Covid-19 vaccine within a year of it becoming available. Governments are not the only ones losing trust: business and news sources, whether traditional or social media, are also facing growing doubts from their readers.
