Indian shadow banks could be in trouble based on NPL, despite some improvements

India’s troubled shadow banks face challenges to a harsh recovery from covid, with asset quality set to fall as stated by the financial regulator. Non-performing assets swelled in the most recent data to the highest in at least 5 years, at 6.3% as of March 2020 even before the worst of covid impact, the Reserve Bank of India said in a report last week. - Bloomberg
