Pioneer Energy has outperformed crude oil this year
The shale driller has shown strong results YTD and has recently set its sight on DoublePoint Energy, buying the firm in a deal worth $6.4B. In thus doing, Pioneer Natural Resource will increase its position to more than 1 million net acres of land, much of which is still undrilled.
