Tablets are not dead - thanks to the pandemic

Following the first release of the iPad in 2010, sales took off with a peak of 230 million units in 2014. The larger smartphones started to make users doubt the use of a dedicated tablet and units sold fell from 230 million to 144 million last in 2019. Today, tablet demand soared to its highest level since 2017, as people adapted to working, teaching and studying from home.
