Our good big boat which obstructed the Suez Canal for more than a week now is finally almost gone. Many ships decided to simply go around Africa, despite the 10 days of travel and the much higher fuel bill. This sacrifice only emphasize the importance of cargo ships and the importance of what they transport for the global economy. Denmark's Maersk is the largest container shipping company in the world, with over 700 ships for a total of 4.1 million container capacity. In contrast, the now-famous EverGreen line has 197 ships and a capacity of 1.3 million containers.
