UK Car production back to contraction
In July 2021, UK companies manufactured 53,438 automobiles, down 37.6% from 85,696 a year earlier, the first drop since February. It's also the worst July since 1956, as manufactures and worker absences caused by the "pingdemic", with some adjusting summer closure schedules to help handle the issue. Production for the UK market plummeted 38.7% to 8,233 cars, while export production fell 37.4% to 45,205 cars sent overseas. Source: TradingEconomics
