Week ahead: #earnings , #Davos #macro data #trading #investing #stocks #markets #forex
This week is packed with the WEF in Davos and many Fed speakers throughout the week. We have US retails sales for December to watch for on Wednesday. After disappointing sales in November, we will be looking for signs that the economy is still resilient. And earnings of course with names such as Netflix and Procter and Gamble reporting. We should also monitor commodities, as if these rise again too quickly this year, it could cause inflationary pressures. It is important to keep in mind that China is a major driver of commodities demand. For instance for copper Chinese demand is 2 x the demand of US and Europe combined.
