Earth Day: The world does not hold enough ressources

If every world citizen were to live with the same resources as an average US citizen, we would need the resources of five full planets like ours to satisfy global needs. Today, humans on Earth have collectively used more resources than the planet can reproduce in a year. Industrialized nations have of course the biggest resource consumption: countries like Qatar, Luxembourg and the United Arab Emirates are even bigger offenders than the US, needing between 5.5 and 9.1 planets if everybody was to embrace their lifestyle. Note than countries like India fetched only 0.7 in 2019.
