Performance by asset class, per year

2020 was interesting to say the least. For example, the Russell 2000 Index of small companies outperformed the S&P 500. However, small caps generally underperformed large caps by a decent amount. Commodities have generally not been performing well in the past 10 years. The S&P 500, in contrast, is basically the contrary of commodities, with US stocks being in the top 3 of asset class consistently in the past 10 years.
